Remastered, Widescreen, Vivid in Color - Venus Wars - A Masterpiece in Story and Animation
Released twice before by Central Park Media and an owner of that release, I had to purchase this new release of Venus Wars by Discotek aka Eastern Star and do a comparison. I collect Discotek releases so I know for a fact, all their releases, are always a significant upgrade. Why else would they go to so much trouble in reviving an old, out of print classic and giving it a new release? Read below to find out.
The old Central Park Media release was letterboxed, grainy and looked like a washed out VHS source. You could just see the dust, the scratches and grain from the print. The colors looked bland and the detail was not showing through on the DVD. Considering the first DVD release was 1998 and the next authored release was 2003, standards are a lot higher today and therefore I would have to rate the video quality a D on the old releases.

Good anime.
This is one of the first anime movies that I watched, so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. For years I was forced to watch a low quality VHS version. So I am glad to finally have it on DVD. The video and sound quality are pretty good considering the age of the movie itself.

This is a very action pack anime if I ever seen one. Storyline is wonderful and the action is awesome!
